Thank you to our wonderful nurses and the nurses’ aides
This week, we want to salute and honor our wonderful Frontline Workers — the Nurses and the Nurses’ Aides! These are indeed the RIGHT AND EXTENDED HANDS of the Little Sisters of the Poor in St. Anne’s Home!
Day in and day out, they help us in providing the best of care for the elderly residents living in our Home. Their love for the Residents is especially shown during this challenging time of the Our Amazing Nursespandemic.
Many people would have shunned working in a nursing home since the elderly are classified as the most vulnerable group to this horrible virus. Yet, our dedicated nurses and nurses’ aides brave the situation; putting their own health as well as those they live with at-risk and faithfully come to work since our lockdown on March 8, 2020!
The extra precautions of having to wear a face mask, maintaining social distancing, and at times, putting on the cumbersome PPE (Precaution Protective Equipment) plus, the additional work of having to serve room-trays for 3 meals did not deter them from continuing to serve the Residents well; AND at the same time, making sure that they are not suffering from loneliness due to the restrictions on visitors.
In May, everyone in St. Anne’s Home — from the 86 Residents, 7 Sisters to the nearly 100 Staff of all department and of all shifts; EVERYONE was tested for COVID-19. The results were fabulous — ALL were NEGATIVE!
Without their courage, dedication and devotion to our mission, we would not be able to continue our humble mission in serving the elderly poor in the Bay Area.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, OUR WONDERFUL NURSES AND NURSES’ AIDES! May God bless you ALL and your Beloved Families!
Our Amazing Frontline Workers!
