Association Jeanne Jugan members participate in the apostolic mission confided by the Church to the Little Sisters of the Poor—that of hospitality to the aged poor. Each member offers the type of commitment to which he or she feels called, according to his or her abilities, interests and family or professional obligations.
Devoted to helping the Little Sisters in their mission of care to the elderly, Association members not only lend a hand or an ear to Residents in need of company, but also often accompany Residents to doctor’s appointments, join them for dinner or take them to the movies. Members with singing talent have even been known to entertain residents with musical presentations.
The Association Jeanne Jugan is open to Catholic men and women of at least 18 years of age who wish to give greater vitality to their Christian faith and to participate in the apostolic mission of the Little Sisters of the Poor. Following an introductory period and a time of initial formation, membership in the Association is sealed by an annual promise. There are almost two thousand Association members worldwide; St. Anne’s Home presently has 27 members.
Please contact Sr. Anna Marie at 415-751-6510 for more information about membership.
